How do I make my thick hair dry as quickly as possible?

I never use blow dryers, because they have always dried out my hair. I have always just let it air dry. But I noticed I can't sleep with wet hair, and since it's long and thick, it takes long to dry. I will have a fan nearby so as I'm in the living room, it will help a bit, but I need something that will work fast. I use Loreal fast dry shampoo and it has made an improvement. But the thing is that my hair also gets tangled easily while it's wet. Does anyone know of a way that I can make my hair dry fast without using something that will ruin it like a blowdryer?

Use the same loreal stuff but in conditioner and towel dry it thouroughly and brush it and sit in front of a fast blowing fan and keep brushing it till its dry or you can try thermasilk shampoo and conditioner which protects your hair from the bad effects of a blowdryer.....my blow dryer actually has a button to push to make cool air come out instead of hot hair but you have to keep holding it down while blow drying...you might want to invest in one of those mine is a conair or revlon I believe.

Every couple minutes floof it around. (yeh, i'm not sure if floof is a word but i think you get what I'm saying)

Maybe the next time you get a haircut you should get it a little shorter. Lately they've been coming out with a lot of cute short cuts. You can find them in the Short Cuts magazine found at Baurnes and Noble! Also, make sure to have the stylist "texturize it" Which gets rid of a lot of extra hair. best wishes

Believe it or not, for years I would turn my oven on and open the door and stand in front of it and run my fingers through my hair until it dried. I am Native American and have very thick hair, taking hours to dry without the oven. It did not damage my hair because I never let my hair get too close to the oven to overheat it. Janis Joplin used to dry her hair this way, too!!
