I have a question about hair dying?

i have black wavy hair that is a little puffy. if i dye my hair brown with loreal or revlon will it make my hair silky or will my hair stay the same. there is this girl who had black long straight hair and she dyed it a brown color with a tint of red and when i first saw her after she dyed her hair, it looked really silky and shiny. and also what is a good hair dye company? thanx

There are a lot of conditioners in hair color that will make it silky and shiny. If you don't want to change your hair color you don't have to...if you dye it the same or a shade up or down from your natural color it won't show roots as bad plus it will put just a little bit of oomph to your hair.

I would choose a hair color that has a weekly conditioning treatment to keep up the health of your colored hair because after a few weeks if you don't condition correctly it will dry out.

I would say that Loreal' Prefrence is a good one with a 6 week conditioning tube. The conditioner that comes with it is awesome I wish they sold it seperately!

The conditioners in the dye will make the hair soft at first. You have to keep up with the conditioning because permanent color dries out hair no matter what.

I'm naturally a light sandy brown, and I dyed my hair black (I know it's not the same color but it's the same concept) and it makes my hair so much softer.

The girl might have straightened it or used a shine serum.

My favorite is Garnier 100% color. The color is great and doesn't fade as fast as others can.

I have a suggestion but it might cost you more money. Over the counter hair dyes don't work. If you want it done properly go to a hair salon and have them take a look at it and provide suggestions. I've seen so many girls go to a real salon after they ruin their hair with over the counter hair dyes. It's not worth the ridicule. get it done right!

i use revlon..if your hair is dark brown/black..i wouldn' mess with it. and if you feel like you have too, put 2-3 shades lighter than ur hair highlights. it'll look good that way. and it probably won't be any different then pooffy if you dye it..just use a good straightener..
