I want to dye my med/dark brown hair to blonde?

i want to dye my med/dark brown hair to blonde. i have natural red highlights and i hate them. i want my hair to be a med/dark blonde. what is the best way to go without having to go to a salon and pay alot of money? any good brands? anything...i tried loreal for dark hair only and it didnt turn blonde....just a redish/orange color...i dont like it. help!

Go to Sally Beauty and buy a color from the Ion Professional line. Get a level 7, and a level 8 dye with an ashy base (green) or a blue/violet base. These color counteract the orange/red in your hair and make it a cooler color. you should get a beached blonde hair dye... it will turn your hair to a horrible orange blonde but it will take out the dark brown. then redye it with a light brown hair dye. this will turn your hair to a med. blonde. its sounds strange but that is what i do. i have med. brown hair myself and it works for me. you can do both dyes the same day. it may cost you about $25 but its cheaper than going to the salon. and if you want it still darker go one more shade darker/. i hope i helped you....
