Omg! Colorant made hair redish/orange; supposed to be light brown. Plz help!?

omg! It turned my hair redish/orange. I had short, black, virgin hair (I haven't had a color or perm in years), so I should've gotten a fairly accurate result ...or so I thought!

The product says it's for dark hair w/optimal results for med. brown to back hair. The front of the box reads: "Ultra Light Ash Brown" "For Dark Hair Only" by Loreal Paris. "Superior Preference les True Brunettes" "ULTRA LIGHTENING NO-BRASS TECHNOLOGY".

1. How can I correct my hair color?

2. How long do I have to wait before I can color my hair again?

Please help me out. My hair looks so odd, it's embarassing. This color is really strange %26amp; it looks horrible. *sob*

Re dye with a colour close to your natural colour

First of all, it's nearly impossible to die your hair a lighter color if you've got dark hair. Nice going there.

You should have bleached it first.

I'm not sure how to correct it without coloring it again, and it's pretty risky to color it so soon. You're supposed to wait 6 weeks.

Try washing your hair repeatedly. Wash it with baking soda, just a little bit added to your shampoo at a time. Do it quick, before the dye sets.
